Why are people opposed to euthanasia in terminal and extreme cases?

I am a libertarian and if I have 6 monthes to live and it will be excrutiatingly painful with no chance of recovery, why shouldn't I have the right to terminate my life in a painless peaceful way after I have settled my affairs and said my goodbyes?
