How many jobs did Bush move out of the private sector into the government?
Airport security prior to Bush and the Department of Homeland Security was done by private security either employed by the airports or contracted out to private security companies by the airports. These were non-government jobs and the employees were paid far less than what the TSA security people are being paid. Many small business companies were put out of business when the security was taken away from them and placed on government payrolls. These jobs have added thousands of people onto the federal payroll and are costing American Tax Payers billions of dollars every month. Why can't these jobs be turned back over to the non-government sector reducing the cost to government and allowing the small business contractors to resume their business?
