Confusion of God's existence?

Even though I've considered myself atheist (but completely respectful of others' beliefs), now I'm rethinking just a little. Some things have been happening that suggest to me there may be a God, and I feel that a higher power may have been/is trying to communicate with me (hard to explain). Now I'm a bit confused. If, perhaps, God does exist, I want to be completely open to him and accepting. Any words of advice on this?
